Antonín Dvořák - From the New World
Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, better known as the “New World Symphony,” is one of his most famous pieces. He completed it in 1893 in New York City (therefore the "New World" subtitle), where he was serving a term as director of the new National Conservatory of Music.
Fast forward to 2007. A TV show put out a call for "eclectic versions" of the New World Symphony, ostensibly because they were using the themes in their show. I picked apart each of the 4 movements and used the major themes to come up with my own electronica/jazz/funk/weird interpretations. Therefore I present to you Dvořák's New World Symphony, remixed by yours truly.
